Pistachio Apple Pie

One of my favourite apple pie recipes. Very easy to make and it looks and tastes delicious.

Pistachio Apple Pie

You Need:

3 apples (450 g)
3 tb of  lemon juice
200 g sugar
200 g butter
1 pinch of salt
4 eggs (m)
60 g whited almonds
300 g flour
1 tsp baking soda
5 tb of milk
50 g apricot jam
a hand full pistachio nuts

Now mix butter, sugar and salt until you have a creamy mass. Then mix flour, almonds and baking soda and add it to the butter-sugar mass. Take turns in adding the milk and the flour-mix. When the dough is ready give it into a greased spring pan.
Now peel the apples and slice them into quarters. Cut lines into the apples and give the lemon juice on top of the pieces (you can also do this before you make the dough). Put the apple slices on top of the dough. Now the cake has to bake 50-60 minutes at 160°C. Towards the end it helps when you put some aluminum foil on top to save it from tanning too much :)

When the cake is done use a brush to glaze the cake with the apricot jam. The final step - sprinkle the pistachios on top.

A tip from me - the cake tastes best when you bake it one day before you want to serve it to your guests! :)

I hope you enjoy it!! :)

Lime Green

don't know about you but I think this is a great colour for butterflies and an even better colour to wear on your ears. Personally I like to combine them with a white lace scarf and a simple shirt.

Would you like a Strawberry?

(also availabe on demand at trollkind-design)

These 4 cuties are just so adorable I can't help myself but to smile whenever I look at them. They can be worn as brooches but I like to wear them on my handbag or at the bag that I take to university.  - Just one at a time of course :) But here they also look so nice being neatly lined up in a row. A little family of strawberry dwarfs.
I just thought that the one gentlemen with the green ribbon would also be nice hanging on a christmas tree. As a dotted christmas elf.  - Have to remember that for december! :)

Dots in a Tree

I just had to photograph him sitting in a tree. Such an adorable little strawberry-elf :) I will wear this one  on my keychain now. Hopefully he will enjoy being carried around all day :)

5 a Day

I had these cute mini nail-art fruits lying around for month now and I only used them once even though they look great. Today I decided to put oranges on my thumbs :)

This morning I decided to have my 5 a day in a different way then usually :) I love fruit but very often I only eat one (or none...) a day because I just forget about it or I am so filled up with other stuff. Its really not easy to work fruit in as a daily routine. I still have to remind myself constantly to eat it and to drink enough water. So I came up with this wonderful alternative that not only looks fabulous and colourful but is also healthy and inspiring :) Maybe it will help me to remember the real fruit...

Golden Treasure

I spent the last week in Sardegna and one evening I spotted this beauty in a showcase I passed. We were in a little town at the westcoast to eat seafruit at a local restaurant famous for its fresh food and I only wanted to buy some stamps before dinner when I fell in love with this beautiful goldlaced silverring. Well, actually I fell in love with 15 rings of that sort, all of which were displayed in the showcase. There was no way out, I had to have one. I needed nearly half an our to decide and I had to try them all on, piece by piece. We got really hungry during this procedure but what could I do? When I finally bought this one I was extremely happy because it looked so nice and it was such an unexpected incidence that just made my day. I keept looking at my hand all evening thinking about outfits I could combine it to. And the best part: It wasn't even expensive.

Last Barbeque

This weekend we had this year's last barbeque (at least I think it will be the last considering the wheater forecast...) It was a beautiful and quite latesummer evening and after dinner we decided to make a fire in the barbeque to keep us warm a little longer while we watched the sun set and the day come to and end. So we burned fir cones and an old fruit box. After it lay waiting in the flames for about 20 seconds the box suddenly burst into flames and was gone in less then a minute. It was beautiful to watch and luckily my camera was able to capture the moment in its burning beauty.

Soon they will be gone...

...the last days of summer.

But before they go I want to save them on as many pictures as possible so I can remember the flowers when the winter seems dark end endless again.

Did you ever see...

... a chandelier in an old brick barn? Beautiful extremes.

I captured this by fluke at an arts and crafts market I visited this weekend. Its just such a wonderful idea and it transformed the old barn into a fairy tale setting. I am not a fan of chandeliers indoors but here they just fit perfectly.

Just a cup of coffee...

Isn't this nice? All I wanted was a simple cappuccino and then I got this beautiful little heart and a house-made cookie on top. Made my day. Love coffeeart :)
